Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover

Hi everyone! I have had this stuff forever, but I have yet to review it for you all! This is the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, and I love it! I have a terrible habit of biting my cuticles, so they look dry and ragged a lot. This helps a lot with that, essentially you put it on your cuticles and the skin around your nails, leave it for 15-20 seconds, and then use a manicure stick to scrape away the gunk. I know it sounds gross but it works very well. It doesn't hurt or burn or anything and it is quick and simple to use. If you are like me and have trouble keeping your cuticles in good shape, I would give this a try! It is available at most drugstores that carry Sally Hansen.

KOTD: Ginger Flowers

Hi everyone! Today I am bringing you a simple Konad, but I love how it turned out, and I have decided that ginger and gold are bffs. This is one of my favorite Konad designs, I love the circles mixed in with the leaves of the flowers! I used OPI Ginger Bells, China Glaze Twenty-Four K, and the konad m20 plate to create this mani, how do you like it?

China Glaze OMG

Hi everyone! I can't believe that I waited so long to hunt down this polish! It is so much prettier in real life than this picture can capture. It is a beautiful silver-rainbow holo polish! It wears really well and dried within a reasonable amount of time. I know that this polish is a favorite for a lot of you. I am scared to use it because I don't ever want to run out of it lol. Does this polish work well for Konading with?

China Glaze QT

Hi everyone! It's about time that I swatched this one for you! This is China Glaze QT, and I think that the name is fitting! It is a gorgeous dark hot pink/magenta holographic polish. This was the best picture that I could get of it; in direct sunlight. I got a ridiculous amount of compliments on this polish! I had to hunt this one down since it hasn't been in stores for almost a year, but it is worth hunting down if you want it! The beauty of this one is that it still looks holographic in indoor lighting, but it is 10x more stunning outside. It wore really well and dried quickly like most China Glaze polishes. What is your favorite holo polish?

NOTD: Lilies Mean I Miss You

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you a simple combination, this is Zoya Lily and Sinful Colors I Miss You. It reminds me of figure skating or ballet, I guess just the delicate quality of the combination. I love the sparkles in I Miss You, it just works so well with so many colors. Do you love the combination too?

8ty8beauty Spree #35 - updates

Hi ladies,

Thanks for your patience. Finally it's on the way to Singapore! They are really very busy and it's frustrating to chase after them. This time round, the orders are a little tricky. Due to the overwhelming response, the orders are a little larger than before. Hence, it has to be split into 2 parcels. The one that's on it's way is the first parcel. The second parcel will be mailed out probably later today as there are some restocks arriving which does help minimizing the OOS list. I will email to those who have items out of stock.

The items will be arriving probably early next week.

I will update again once all the items have arrived.

For those who've missed the spree, the next spree will be opening soon!

Thanks =)

Nailene Stickers Review

Hi everyone! I wanted to do a quick review on stickers that were sent to me by Nailene* for you all. Although I have never been one for nail stickers, these were pretty nice I will probably use them on manis that I plan on keeping for longer than a day.

Bedazzled Earth Angel and SuperStar: These sticker packs contain a variety including butterflies, hearts, flowers, and rhinestone stickers. The stickers stay pretty well, the rhinestone ones obviously don't last as long as it is easier to bump them, but they stick pretty well and can spice up a boring manicure. My personal favorites were the rhinestone stickers, they make me want to try 3-D nail art!

French Tip Stickers: I have used these for several manicures, and I must say that I really love them. They take a little bit of practice, but once you get it right the results are stunning! I will complain though about the number in the pack, 96. I have 10 fingers, shouldn't the number be divisable by 10? 6 is not going to give me a full manicure lol!

*These products were sent to me by Nailene for consideration of review. If you have any questions please see my disclosure poliscy in the tab bar.

NOTD: Sea Pearls

Hello everyone! (Backlogged post!) Who doesn't love a little subtle sparkle? I was really in a blue mood so I decided to use OPI Sea? I Told You! as the main color. I then topped it with Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor and I used the Essie Matte topcoat to matte the look. I love how it turned out, it looked more sparkly in real life though. What do you think? Do you like to matte bright colors too?

This has nothing to do with nail polish in the least, but I am going to go ahead and pimp out my new blog, Playing With Piercings. I know that it has nothing to do with nail polish in the least, but I figure that some of you are probably into body mods too. When I was researching various piercings and such, I found that there just aren't a lot of personal blogs about it. I am by no means a professional or a hard-core body modifyer, but I want to document my experiences and share what I learn/learned. Check it out if you are interested, I will put up a new post on it here soon! :D

Essie Fearless

Hi everyone, today I am bringing you a great polish, Essie Fearless. I was shocked at how pigmented this polish was when I first put it on, this is not your typical Essie sheer polish! This was 2 coats and it is essentially opaque. This is a vibrant red-orange color that just pops off the nails! It wears well and applied well with a thin-but-not-too-thin formula. Gorgeous color if you can find it!

KOTD: Gold Tone-on-Tone

Hello everyone, how about another beautiful tone-on-tone Konadicure? I have never used the leopard lace pattern, so this was a fun way to use it! I used Tip Toe Gold Rush as the base color, and China Glaze Twenty-Four K as the stamping color, and this pattern is on the m57 plate. I love how this looks, so cute! Do you use any of the Konad lacy patterns on your nails?

China Glaze Flying Dragon

Hi everyone! Today I am bringing you my first true neon, China Glaze Flying Dragon. My boyfriend picked it out for me at Sally's, boy does he have good taste!  This is a gorgeous neon purple with 2 parts pink sparkles and 1 part blue sparkles. Note that this picture was taken after I applied a top coat, it dries very matte. It doesn't wear as well as most of my polishes, it started chipping in less than a day. Is that normal with neon formulas? It is so pretty though, I love all of the wonderful compliments that I get when I wear it! Do you like it too?

8ty8beauty spree #35 - updates

Hi ladies,

i've emailed 8ty8beauty our orders few days ago. I have just received the email quotation minutes ago after giving them a call yesterday to hurry. Seems like they are very very busy. (as usual) They are forever busy! Good business huh. Anyway, lots of out of stock this time round. Guessed many of you want to get your hands on the Alice in Wonderland collection after watching the movie?

Tom informed me that the color Mad as a hatter has been DISCONTINUED!! Can you believe it?! This collection just launched about 1-2 months ago and now is already discontinued? This is gonna break many people's heart coz this color is really pretty. I love them colored on my toes. This color is really popular and highly raved.

I shall wait till i receive the final invoice then email to those who are affected for the OOS colors.

Will update again once item is posted out.

Thanks

Nail Art: Purple and Polka Dotted!

Hi everyone! Today I am bringing you something more fun! This is Parlez-Vous OPI and Chi Chi Cyber Vixen for the dots. I did use a dotting tool, there is no way that I could freehand that! I thought that this was a fun one to wear and I got several compliments on it, so yay! Do you like it too?

St. Patrick's Day Marble

Hi everyone! Here is the mani that I am rocking for St. Patty's Day! It is a green and gold marbling design! I used OPI Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow as the base color, and then I marbled with a mix of OPI Green-wich Village and China Glaze 5 Golden Rings. I love how sine Green-wich Village is sheer, it just changed the tone of the dark green in places. Isn't it pretty and funky? I love it! What are you doing for this awesome holiday? (If you celebrate it)

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

St. Patrick's Day French

Hi everyone! Today I am doing a St. Patty's Day inspired mani, it is just a green french lol! Nothing too special, but I love St. Patrick's Day so I had to do a couple of manicures to celebrate! I used OPI Here Today Aragon Tomorrow, OPI Green-wich Village, and Art Deco Gold Glitter. Do you like it? Are you doing anything fun for tomorrow?

So that you are all aware, I (yet again) am going to temporarly stop commenting on other blogs, but I will go back and read/comment on them probably Friday or Saturday. I have a midterm on Wednesday afternoon and 2 more midterms early Thursday morning, and then I have to pack to go home. So I will catch up in the airport lol! I will still be viewing the comments on this blog and answering any questions though. I will also be on twitter once in awhile to keep up, so feel free to tweet me if you would like! :)

Zoya Luna

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you one of the awesome Zoya ultra glitters, Luna. I got this in a swap with Kellie from Also Known As, and I was so excited about it! Who doesn't want their nails to look like disco balls?

This glitter is so shiny! I can see my reflection in the side of the bottle, these glitters are like little mirrors! The glitter is dense enough to be almost opaque in three coats and it glitters and gleams like none other! Did you get any of the Zoya Glitters, and did you like them too?

Nailene French Tip Pens Take Two!

Hi everyone! Now I know that I have already done a full review of the Nailene French Tip Pens that Nailene was kind enough to send me*, but I found the two colors that I didn't have at Rite-Aid! So of course I have to give my review of these because I love them, and this time I am giving a more specific review of each individual color.

White - This was my least favorite of the pens. As much as I freaking love how bright it is, but the formula was a little too thick and it dried out on me. Now this totally could have been an error on my part, I may not have put the cap on properly. But when the tip dried up and I was trying to use it, it started to leak out of the casing. Not cute. I also am basically out of it, which was an error on my part because the first time I used it I pressed the tip too long and I wasted a lot of product. So learn from my mistakes and remember to make sure the cap is on properly and don't press the tip down for more than a couple of seconds!

Pearl White - I liked this pen, this was my third favorite. The formula, although a little runny, was really easy to apply and the color is really pretty. I wouldn't call it "white" but more of an off-white, like for an American manicure. It is a bit silvery in some lights as well, it has a lovely frosty quality to it.

Pearl Pink - I think that this one was my favorite! I didn't think that I was going to like this color that much but I really did! The formula was perfect and I like how it was easy to see it filling the tip so that I knew when to stop feeding polish to the tip, I wish that the tips of the white ones weren't white because it is much easier to see with a different color. This is probably the hardest one to match colors to, but it goes great with cream colors and pinks!

Black - This one totally comes in as my second favorite. I love the concept of a black tip. The formula in this one is perfect as well, it is very opaque in one coat! Again having it be a different color from the tip really helped a lot. The only problem that I have with this one is that if you don't put on a good topcoat, it will chip quickly, and it is very noticable if you are wearing a light color under it. Otherwise I love it!

So I hope that this is a better review for you all and more through about each individual color as I experienced it!

* I was sent the White and Pearl White pens by Nailene. However I bought the Pearl Pink and Black with my own hard-earned money, that is now much I like these pens in general!

NOTD: Jade Pearls

Hi everyone! Here is a simple combination today, I wanted to wear OPI Jade is the New Black with a little bling. So I layered Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor over it, I love how it brings out the blue tones in the polish! Very simple but a little flashy, you like? What is your favorite creme/glitter combination?

Goldie Polishes: Neutral Set

Hi everyone! I found these polishes at TJMaxx and bought the neutral set, although there is a very pretty pink set as well. None of these have names, so I am naming them instead and giving you a full review of each polish.

This first one I am calling Sheer Pink, because that is what it is. This was my least favorite of the bunch, this was two coats and clearly you can still see my nail tips. This polish formula is a bit thick and milky. This would be great for a french manicure though, and that is what I plan to use it for. It is a lovely color, but it is not a unique one.

This next one I am calling Shimmery Toffee. This is a muted light brown, kind of like coffee when you put a lot of creamer in it. It has a lovely subtle silver shimmer and this is my favorite of the bunch. It had the best formula, although this one is a bit on the thick side too. This is two coats and you can only see VNL if you look really close.

This last one I am calling Golden Latte. In the bottle this is a lovely dark golden brown, but the brown really doesn't show up on the nail. On the nail it is more of a medium brown with a lovely golden shimmer. The formula of this one is actually a little runny, this is three coats of polish. It didn't come out as I expected, but it is still very lovely! What do you think of these polishes?

I want to say thank you for all of the wonderful comments and wishes of good luck from the past couple of days, they mean a lot to me. I did really well at the conference, a lot of people at lunch came up to me and told me what a great job I did and I actually got voted best presentation, which I was really surprised at. Considering that I was the only undergraduate speaker there, I think that was really saying something. So yay! :D

KOTD: Light Blue Tone-on-Tone

Hi everyone! How about another tone-on-tone manicure? I am really loving this one, it reminds me of summer and fun and vacations and awesomeness. I used China Glaze For Audrey, China Glaze Metallic Muse, and the m57 plate. I like to imagine that the flowers are just falling down my nails. Do you like this mani too?

I apologize in advance that I won't be able to check comments all day today. As you read this I am at a conference presenting my research project (my first of 3 conferences this spring, and they are all within a month). I am really nervous because I have yet to present my research to anyone outside of my research lab (who I present my progress to every week), but I think that I will do well. I like to think that I am a pretty good presenter! We'll see how it goes, wish me luck! In case you are curious, I am wearing OPI Kreme de la Kremlin on my tips and OPI Dulce de Leche on my toes for the presentation. My nails look SO boring lol!

Konad Haul!

Hi everyone! I took advantage of the last bit of time that the 30% discount could be used since Konad USA decided to be $%#&s and no longer allow Konad vendors to offer discounts. I bought these from OC Nail Art, get your Konad there! I am not saying this because I am getting compensated or something; which I am not, but because Kathleen offers not only really competative prices but has unbeatable customer service! She even wrote a cute little note for me on my invoice. She is so sweet! I always have and always will get my Konad from her. She has a fabulous reputation for a reason!

Now onto the haul itself, I got the m66, m71, m75, and s9 plates, all of which I am super excited to start using! I also got the plastic scraper because it really bothers me how scratched up my other 3 plates are, and I am kinda OCD about that kind of stuff. Would you guys want a comparison between the metal and plastic scrapers?

China Glaze Flyin' High

Hi everyone! Today I am bringing you yet another color from the Up Up and Away collection, Flyin' High. I really like this collection lol! Can you believe that I didn't have anything like this in my collection? Not a single medium blue creme. This is such a pretty color, and it applied so well in just 2 coats. Dried within a reasonable amount of time, and it didn't chip for the two days that I wore it. Do you love this color too?

To all of my nail blogging buddies; I am sorry that I have been falling behind in commenting and reading your posts. I have been studying for a test that I am taking this morning, and then I have to prepare for a huge presentation that I am making tomorrow, and I will be at that conference all day without my laptop. I have been checking comments on my blog and answering questions though. I will try to catch up this weekend!

KOTD: Purple Tone-On-Tone

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you another tone-on-tone manicure, and I am loving how it turned out! I have never used this particular flower pattern before so it was really fun to try! My boyfriend is loving the tone-on-tone manicures, I don't know why but he does! He is so sweet. Anyways, I used the m20 plate, Parlez-vous OPI?, and China Glaze Devotion. Do love how this turned out too?

Be sure to go and vote in the Seche/China Glaze Contest, I know that a lot of you were asking yesterday about it! Go and vote for your favorite! (I hope it's me!) :)

Mannequin Toes?

Hi everyone! If you hate feet, run and hide! I have NEVER shown my feet on this blog before! I only change my toe polish once every 2-3 weeks, and usually it is a very bright color. But I had to change it to something neutral because I am presenting at a conference on Friday in peep-toe pumps. Now OPI Dulce de Leche was a close mannequin hands color, but it was a little pink and dark, which I expected on my toes. Turns out that it is my perfect manniquin toes color! Isn't it kinda creepy looking lol? Sorry about showing my foot, but this was too funny to not post about!

China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint

Hi everyone! I know that you have seen more than enough swatches of this polish, but I am going to throw mine in there too! This polish is what I wanted Essie's Mint Candy Apple to be! It has more green and less blue. This polish is so pretty, and I love how it stands out against my skintone. This applied very smoothly and it dried very quickly; I was kind of surprised! I love this polish, I have a feeling that I will be sporting it a lot this spring, along with a lot of other pastels! Did you snatch this one up; do you like it too?
