Guest Nails!

Hi everyone! Today I am not featuring my nails, but the nails of one of my really good friends at university. She is one of my best friends, she is studying the same subject as me and we have a lot of classes together.

She ALWAYS compliments me on my nails, and she asked me to do her nails for her, and I jumped for joy at the opportunity! She never wears nail polish, so she wanted to choose something simple. She went for OPI Kreme de la Kremlin, but I talked her into adding a little glitter (Sinful Colors UFO) and matte top coat (Essie). She wore this mani for a week and loved it! Isn't she a great hand model?

Nail Art: Purple French

Hello everyone! Today's mani is actually from ealier this month, it got backlogged. I really like it though, I will probably sport this again at some point, after all who can deny metallics and glitter?. I got gobs of compliments on it, people thought that it was really classy in comparison to the obnoxious nails that I usually sport lol!

I used OPI Done Out in Deco for the base color, China Glaze Harmony for the tips, and Art Deco Silver Glitter as the glitter stripe. Do you love it too?

15 Blogs I Read Frequently Tag!

Hi everyone! The amazingly talented Jen from A Beauty and Fashion Blog (you may know her from Specktra as L1LMAMAJ) tagged me for this award; thank you Jen! She is a MAC artist and does some really amazing but wearable looks; go check her out! She also has a giveaway going (covertly pimps her giveaway here)....

Alright, the rules of the tag are simple; accept the award and tag 15 awesome blogs that you love to read! I read about 150 blogs so choosing was hard. In reality I love all of the blogs that I read! In no particular order...

You've Got Nail - Jacie is a blogger from Australia who is so funny and creative! She swatches a lot of brands that I don't see from other bloggers and she has a great weekly segment called the Naily News!

Polished Lyrics - Jessica does great swatches and includes song references too! You don't know how many songs she has gotten stuck in my head after reading her blog!

Painted Lady Fingers - If you want whimsy, she's got it! Not only are her nails stunningly long and beautiful, but she takes gorgeous outdoor shots of her nails with all sorts of flowers and darling little creatures!

Black Nail Polish and Lipgloss - Evil Angel is the go-to source for all nail polish and makeup that is a little on the darker side. Her blog is so unique and I love who she is and what she does!

Cucumpear's Pandemonium of Cosmetics - Although relatively new to the nail polish blogging block; she does really cool nail art that inspires me so much!

Emerald Sparkled - Trincess does nails and she does them well! She mostly does Konad but she always gets such sharp, perfect images, I am secretly jealous! Love her blog!

Juicy-Nails! - A French based blog, but she translates it into English too! I try to read it in French, but I am so rusty that I end up cheating and going to the English section. She does beautiful swatches of a wide variety of colors and brands!

Lambchop Mobile - She does gorgeous swatches and nail art manis. My favorites are her Duck Day manis! It makes me want to do manis inspired by my university, but then you would all know where I live (shifty eyes...).

Magic Maid - Nicole has a fantastic blog, where do I even begin? Great swatches, great nail art, and great extra goodies! Plus she is a super sweet lady!

20 Color Drops - Inbal is one of the sweetest bloggers I know! She also does stunning swatches and comes up with some amazing layering combinations!

FAB UR NAILS - Thriszha does some really amazing nail art! Lately she has been doing some of the best water marbling that I have ever seen, she makes me want to try it now!

Nail'd and Polish'd - Cindy does great swatches and her nails look so good! Short and chic! Love it!

The Hungry Asian - Kae has some stunning nails! Her nails are what I aspire my nails to be. She is the reason that I *attempt* to shape my nails square. She could swatch dog poop and I would still be impressed with the swatch!

Polishign the Nails! - She has really wonderful posts and swatches, I love reading her random posts about cool things that she has found and such!

Concrete and Nail Polish - April and Ashley show us great colors and swatches, plus they love to advertise great sales and giveaways!

Wet 'n Wild Craze Nocturnal

Hola everyone! Today's post is a swatch/review of the Wet 'n Wild Craze polish in Nocturnal. Yes, I know that I am way late on the whole bandwagon over this line, but in my defense I did not see these until last month.

This is a strange color; I was expecting a dark violet and I got an almost black blurple. Of course purples are impossible to photograph so it looks pitch black.

I like it, but I am not loving it. The cap make polish application a little tough, but it dried pretty fast and applied well in 2-3 coats. If you have this polish, did you feel similarly about it?

8ty8beauty Spree #30 updates

Hi ladies,

thank you very much for your patience.

It's really a pain to get in touch with 8ty8beauty. I've been trying to contact them yesterday (called many times and even left 2 voicemails) plus bombard their emails but no reply. Finally managed to speak to Tom just now. He mentioned that it's holiday over at their side (does USA celebrate hari raya haji too? =/ ) Anyway, don't know what holiday la..they do not ship on holidays. Earliest they can dispatch our orders will be either next tues/wed. Partly its also because of backlogs and festive period and they are flooded with orders.

I do hope that by the time i returned back, it will be just in time to receive the goods. I hope you can understand.

I will be traveling to korea tonight (Sat). As mentioned, i have limited or no access to internet. I will definitely respond to your email whenever possible.

For those out of stocks, i will advise those affected accordingly when i returned.

Time to sleep now! I still gotta work tomorrow... damn it!!

Thanks gals~~~

KOTD: Falling into Winter

Hi everyone, I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving! Today I bring you another Thanksgiving themed mani, and I quite like how this turned out!

I used OPI You Don't Know Jacques, OPI Brights Power, and Sinful Colors Canary Yellow. I also used the m20 plate with China Glaze Twenty-Four K for the leaves. :)

Nail Art: Hand Turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it! Today I bring you a hand turkey! For those of you (my lovely international readers) who do not celebrate Thanksgiving and may not know, there is a grade school tradition in the US of making "hand turkeys". You trace the outline of your hand and use this outline to draw a face for a turkey on the thumb and color in the other fingers in red, orange, and yellow for "feathers". I turned this concept into nail polish form; and I love it!

I used OPI You Don't Know Jacques (brown), Sinful Colors Canary Yellow, OPI Brights Power (orange), Essie Forever Young (red), and Art Deco Black. Isn't he a sexy little gobbler? Here is a closeup of his face below. Even if you don't celebrate this American holiday, it is still a good time to count your blessings and be thankful for all of the wonderful things in your life. In reality, we should do this everyday. Have a great day everyone!

KOTD: Indian Lace

Heya everyone! I have been on somewhat of a french tip kick, so I decided to try it with a Konad design again. I don't know, whenever I think of dark red and gold or bronze, I think of India. I have never been there but I have always found the culture to be fascinating!

I used OPI Bogota Blackberry as the base color, the m57 plate, and Sinful Colors Bronze as the stamping color. This color works really well for stamping because it is metallic and very opaque. This isn't my favorite mani ever, but I do like it. I think that I can improve on the theme!

Who Doesn't Love Zoya? (Well, Maybe NP Junkies Outside of the US)

I just heard from the awesome Nail Novice about Zoya's Green Friday Event! Normally I don't post about sales or anything like that; but I am really considering lifting the no-buy for this one. With a $20 purchase, you get 6 green Zoya polishes that include Envy, Tangy, Midori, Irene, Suvi, and Veruschka! Yeah, that's a steal! It begins on Thanksgiving Day at 5pm EST and ends 24 hours later. The code at checkout is GREENFRIDAY. Here is the link to Zoya's Post on it.

I am sad to say however that this is US residents only. :( I really wish that Zoya would give countries outside of the US a chance, I know there are tons of you nail polish junkies out there who don't live in the US! I have never tried Zoya before and I am thinking that now might be a great time to start! What are your favorite Zoya polishes? What are the must-haves? I was thinking aobut picking up the whole Ultra Glitters Collection, what do you think?

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

Hola! Today's post is a review of the highly popular OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. It is a very dark (almost black) plum purple.

I applies evenly and well, but it isn't as opaque as I would like. By the time I get it opaque, it is too dark to really tell if it is purple; as illustrated by the picture. The drying time on the polish was average for an OPI. I thought that I would love this, but I am a little disappointed. I will still use it as I love purples and this Konads really well for me, but I had higher expectations. Do you own this polish and do you love it?

NOTD: Blue Racing Stripes

Hi everyone! Today's look is one that I have been wanting to try for awhile. I wanted to do different stripes of the same basic color, and I do pretty much like how it turned out. Had I been patient I probably would have gotten the lines straighter. I like that depending on what angle you look at it, it looks really different. Below are the "side view" pictures. I used China Glaze For Audrey, OPI Sea? I Told You! and OPI Russian Navy.

Profile 4-Sided Buffer

After my last generic buffer buffed out in about a month, I decided that it was time to change. I had been looking everywhere for a 4 sided buffer. Sephora was out, Ulta didn't carry them, and neither did most drugstores. I actually found this at a local grocery store, but imagine that it is available at CVS or something.

Anyway this buffer has 4 sides, a filing side, a buffing side, a matte finisher side and a shiny finisher side. I like to use the buffer and the shiny side, the filer is ok but I like my crystal nail file from Sephora better. This is the best one that I have used so far, I really recommend getting this or something similar!

Nail Art: Bizarre Silver French

Hello everyone! I love how this turned out! I love mixing textures and applying it to classics, or fruit interpretations lol.

I used OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede as the base color and China Glaze Devotion as the tip color. I got lots of compliment on this bizarre french, I just wish that I had freehanded those lines straighter. Oh well.

So I wore this mani for over a day and I was too lazy to take it off; so I covered it in China Glaze Fairy Dust. I think that I like it sparkly better, do you?

Wet 'n Wild Shield

Hello everyone! Yes, I know that I am late to the whole Wet 'n Wild Craze polish bandwagon, but better late than never right?

I usually hate gold, but this one is warm enough to kind of flatter my skin tone! To me it is a dirty gold, and I love it! It is a bit sheer, needing 3-4 coats to be opaque, but the drying time is really fast. I wore this polish home for my fall break and it went four days without chipping, hooray! This is very cheap at about $2; although it is a little small at .325 ounces. The bottle is just so cute though!

KOTD: Vampy Flowers

Hi everyone! I actually really like how this turned out, I wish that it wasn't so dark outside so that I could capture its depth and sparkle better. I apologize for the indoor lighting!

I used China Glaze Lubu Heels as the base color and China Glaze Devotion as the stamping color with the m20 plate. I must rave about how Devotion konads, it comes out so crisp and opaque, and it is so easy to work with!

I really wish that I hadn't smudged this like, 5 minutes after I took this picture; I smacked my hand and messed up 4 of the 5 nails. I took this mani off and did a different one. Sigh...oh well! I may try this one out again in the future!

Holiday Giveaway!

*If you follow this blog and found this link on another blog and you are thinking "WTF happened; why am I not getting any of your posts?!?" it's because I changed the url and it did not change everyone to the new one like it was supposed to. Obviously I can't contact everyone about the change, but I did the best I could. Please unfollow the old url and follow this new one; thanks!*

Hi everyone! I hit 130 followers a couple of days ago, so I thought that this might be an appropriate time to do a giveaway (I am too impatient to wait until 150)! Sorry, I am kind of one for bad puns! The winner will win a brand new Essie Mint Candy Apple polish, and two Bath and Body Works Sanitizing Hand Lotions in Nectarine Mint and Winter Candy Apple! (Lame I know; I apologize) The lotions will keep your hands moisturized, kill the germies and smell amazing (seriously I have gone through 3 tubes of nectarine mint...) while you are looking stylish in your brand new polish!

Giveaway Rules:
Mandatory (1 entry total)
1.You must be a follower! Definition of follower- if I click on your name in the comment section to go to your profile, this blog needs to be under your followed blogs. Otherwise you don't qualify at all. I don't care if you unfollow me after the giveaway, but you must be a follower during it.
2. Leave a comment with your name and e-mail address. If you are not comfortable leaving that information in the comments section; just e-mail it to me! :)
Optional
3. In the comments, briefly tell me about what holiday/s you celebrate around this time of the year! (1 entry)
4. If you have a blog; put me in your blogroll! Now there is a restriction on this; I changed my url awhile back (see above) so some blogrolls do not have the correct link anymore. The link must work for this entry to qualify, the url if you need to change it is http://naive-nails.blogspot.com/ (1 entry)
5. Post about this giveaway on your blog! In your comment, leave a link to your post. Note that your post MUST have a link back to THIS PAGE in order to qualify. You are welcome to use the picture of the prizes as long as you do not take the watermark off. (3 entries)

The giveaway is open internationally! You need to leave a comment by 11:59 pm (US Mountain Time) Dec. 7th to qualify, so you have tons of time! If your comment appears after my closing comment; it will not qualify. I am going to be really strict with the rules. I will use a random drawing to choose the winner!

Good luck everyone!

NOTD: Purple Ombre

Hey everyone! I know that the "ombre trend" was a long time ago, but I did want to try it, so this is what I came up with. Not the best I know, sorry.

I mixed OPI Done Out in Deco and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark into a gradient. These polishes really didn't mix well, thus the lumps and uneveness. I do love the idea of the ombre though; I feel like if I play with it some more that it will get better. I wish that the color on my ring finger was lighter and not so close to the color on my middle finger.

Did you try the ombre; did you like it?

8ty8beauty spree #30 - Hurry!!

Hi ladies!!

Please do hurry if you wish to grab your favourite nail polish colors for Christmas!

8ty8beauty Spree #30 will be CLOSING on
22Nov - Sunday at 9pm
!

If you've not made the payment, please kindly do so ASAP or your orders will not be taken in.

Thanks!

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle

Hi! I know that I have tons of polishes to still review that I bought before this one, but I wanted to get this one out of the way since this is a popular color this season! It is a green version of Ruby Pumps for sure; I love it! The two together scream Christmas to me!

Please ignore the strange state of my ring finger nail. It uncurled while I was in swatch mode. I never noticed that it curled, so I filed it to look nice curled. Of course that doesn't transfer when it uncurls. I did fix it later though! :)

It doesn't apply quite as nicely as Ruby Pumps, it balded in some spots and I had some difficulties with this swatch, but when I did it later it was fine. I think that I just did too much swatching and the application suffered. I can't stop staring at my nails when I wear this. It is officially on my toes for the next couple of weeks! I don't have another version of this to compare, but based off of several comparisons that I have seen; this is the good version. It is a little deeper and has denser glitter. Pick it up while you can if you want it!

Dear China Glaze -
Please make polishes like Emerald Sparkle and Ruby Pumps in blue, pink, purple, gold, silver, orange, black, and any other color possible. I and my fellow nail polish addicts will buy every single color and give you lots of monies and publicity through our comments and blogs. We would also love you forever for doing so.
Love, gildedangel :)

KOTD: Daytime Snowflakes

Hello! I apologize for the lack of cleanup, I was feeling lazy. I really like this winter mani, it is simple while still being interesting. I got lots of compliments on this mani! I did it while I am still excited about getting snow; because I know that I won't be much longer as it snows from November to April here! It is always so freaking cold!

I used China Glaze For Audrey, China Glaze Fairy Dust, OPI Alpine Snow and the Konad plate in m20. I really love this one!

I have already reviewed Merry Midnight and Mint Candy Apple, but the rest of the reviews are coming up in the future! I think that I picked out some great stuff!

Giveaway Rundown (And Future Giveaway Ramblings)!

Hello everyone! I am sorry that I haven't done one of these posts in awhile, I have been super busy!

Firstly we have Mary from Body and Soul giving away of 2 sets (so 2 winners) of the whole China Glaze Wizard of Ooo-Ahz Collection! It ends November 15th, so hurry over!

Next we have another fantastic giveaway from Diana at Painted Lady Fingers, who's Points of Color Contest involves winning Migi Nail Art Pens! Runs through November 20th, click here for details!

Ange-Marie from Scandalously Polished is having a giveaway that runs through Black Friday (November 27th), click here to check it out!

Nathalie from Nani's Nails is having a winter-themed Makeup and Nail Art Contest that runs through November 30th, click here to check it out!

Lastly, I have decided that pretty soon here I want to have my own winter/holiday giveaway or contest. Maybe at 150 followers? IDK. I am thinking contest, but I haven't fully decided yet. I want it to be winter themed but there have been so many of those lately that I might narrow the theme down a bit. I have been collecting the prizes and so far it looks super cute! I think that you all will like it!

Nail Art: Sunburst

This was one of my first attempts using the Art Deco polishes a couple of months ago, not perfect but not bad. Sorry for the blurry picture, it didn't look blurry when I took it. I love the glitter, it almost reminds me of fireworks, so I may do a fireworks mani in the future, New Year's Eve perhaps?

I used OPI You Don't Know Jacques and Art Deco Gold Glitter. It's not perfect but it has inspired me for the future!

OPI You Rock-opulco Red!

Hello everyone! I actually swatched this a few weeks ago while I was on vacation at home, my cuticles look amazing in this picture! I took such good care of them while I was home!

Anywho, I found this polish in the 50% clearance bin at Fred Meyer, and this is officially the polish that I will be wearing throughout my Winter Break (I can't bring nail polish with me!). It is at home at the moment so you won't see it in nail art, but it is a lovely warm red with a slight flash of pink. It applied well and very opaque, and it dried pretty quickly. It is my perfect Christmas red! Do you have a "perfect" holiday color?

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

NOTD: Purple Peace

I did this mani a long time ago (it got pushed back to the back of the line a lot) which is a shame because I quite like it. It is simple and elegant. I didn't wear it for long, but that doesn't mean that I don't like it.

I used OPI Done Out in Deco and put OPI Significant Other Color over it to give it a green/white duochrome. It's a shame that the green never shows up in pictures! The white dots are OPI Alpine Snow done with a dotting tool. I am loving the combination of Done Out in Deco and Significant Other Color!

Essie Mint Candy Apple

Yay! I finally got it! Trade Secrets in my area freaking suck at getting collections on time. I called a week after they were supposed to have it and it hadn't even been sent to them yet! I could understand if it was in a box and they just hadn't had a chance to inventory it and set it out, but come on now! I actually called Ulta to see if they had it that day and they said no; but when I went 2 hours later they totally did, so I picked this lemming up!

Although I love the color, this polish does not apply well. It is a little lumpy and thick, and it doesn't even itself out well like many polishes do. It's a shame because it is SO DARN PRETTY! I love cream finishes, so this color really tickles my fancy. Do you have this yet, and if so do you like it?

KOTD: Metallic Argyle

Hello everyone! Today's post is a poorly done Konad, sorry. I did this and didn't bother to even clean it up before I took a picture because I took it off right after the picture was taken. This was my first time working with the argyle pattern on the m60 plate. The pattern is slightly crooked, but I love the idea. I love how metallics look when Konaded, they are so crisp! I also love mixing up the textures.

I used OPI You Don't Know Jacques as a base color and China Glaze Metallic Muse as the stamping color. Although not my best work, I think that this does look ok at least.

In more exciting news, I am going to a piercing studio with two of my best friends to get piercings this afternoon! I am getting my navel pierced, one friend of mine is getting two dermal anchors in her side, and the other friend is getting her ears pierced for the first time! I am so excited!

Again, I want to apologize for all of the hassle this whole "changing the url" thing has become. It is so hard to let everyone know about the change, and it is such a pain considering that it is supposed to update automatically. Thank you all who have gone through the trouble of changing the url and updating the blogrolls, I really appreciate it! Any additional help in letting others know would be fantastic too; as I have no way of reaching followers who do not have blogs that I can comment on. Happy Monday everyone!

OPI Merry Midnight

I freaking love this polish! This is my first flakie, and I love it! I would describe this polish as a red-plum sheerish base with blue sparkles and rose-gold flakies. My boyfriend loves it too!

It is a bit sheer for my taste, it does need three coats to avoid a visible nail line, but it sparkles and shines like there is no tomorrow! It is slightly gritty; but that is nothing that a nice thick topcoat can't fix. This will be the only polish that I pick up from OPI's Holiday Wishes collection, but I am really happy with my choice!

OPI Suede Collection

Hi Ladies~

You probably have hear about this collection - OPI Suede. I have been trying to order this collection but it's always not available. Finally now it's available! whew~

There are 6 colors. It's actually an existing color but in a different formula.

Here's the description about this collection:

The suede spin on the original lacquers produces shades that stand apart from their predecessors, so don’t worry about anyone mistaking your suede Russian Navy for the original glossy lacquer. O.P.I. warns that the new suede-inspired collection will not wear as long as regular lacquer. Although some fans insist that a topcoat brings these shades to a glamorous, metallic level with an intense shine, wearers are instructed against using topcoats, lotions, or any drying products in combination with these shades to preserve the suede look.

After looking at the swatches from Scrangie, i really want to try those colors! Besides, after applying top coat, it's simply GORGEOUS!

Nail Art: Funky Frenchy!

I love this mani, isn't it classy? I think that this is the cleanest french mani that I have done in a long time; this is actually from a few weeks ago. I am quite proud of myself here!

I used OPI Alpine Snow as a base color, OPI Tutti Frutti Tonga as the pink, OPI Big Apple Red as the tip color, and Art Deco Gold Glitter as the glitter stripe under the tip.

Update About Links!

If you have been having trouble clicking on links to my blog, that is because I changed the domain name to http://naive-nails.blogspot.com/ earlier today. If you have posted a link to my blog, it goes to an error page because of the change. Of course because I did this, now blogrolls and links are all messed up. I didn't realize that changing the domain to something much shorter was going to be such a hassle! If you are having trouble, change "gildedangel-naivenails" to "naive-nails". Sorry about that everyone! Happy Friday!

Mecca Cosmetica Celia

Squeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! (Jumps up and down like an over-excited 3 year old) I got my wonderful package from Jacie O who writes You've Got Nail all of the way from Australia! I have never gotten an international package before, so it was really neat to get one. I won a prize from her inaugural giveaway, and I won a Mecca Cosmetica polish in Celia.

Jacie, you pack so well! For anyone who ever wins a polish from her, I can pretty much guarantee that it will not break or leak. It was taped up to prevent leaks and was wrapped tight in bunches of bubble wrap, it took me 15 minutes to get that puppy open; but it was in pristine condition after traveling halfway around the world!

I am really so lucky to have gotten this. This particular brand is only sold and shipped to Australia and New Zealand, and this is by far the most expensive polish in my collection (~$18.54 USD). Thank you so much Jacie, I love it!

I would describe this polish as a pink/lavender. I know that the picture makes it look pink, but it is not. This is definetly best described as MAC Snob lipstick in nail polish form. It is not pink, but at the same time not purple, although it leans more towards the purple side IMO. It can't decide what color it is! It also contains a pretty subtle silver shimmer to it in the bottle, but it doesn't show up on the nail. It applied perfectly in two coats, and is surprisingly opaque. It is very worksafe without being boring; which I love! Do you all love the color too?

KOTD: Snowing Too Soon

Hello everyone! Today is a Konadicure, but I don't think that it is very pretty. I was experimenting and it didn't turn out how I expected. I did this a few weeks ago on the first day that it snowed here. Last month. I don't want winter to come! It is WAY too cold outside!

I used OPI My Private Jet (the not amazing version) as the base color, and using the m20 plate I stamped in China Glaze For Audrey and OPI Done Out in Deco. I thought that particular stamp looked like a flower, but it looks more like a snowflake. I see another snowflake Konadicure in the future...

China Glaze Harmony

Hello everyone! This is a polish that I won from the wonderful Allya from Painted Tips! This is a polish from an earlier collection this year called Romantiques by China Glaze.

This is officially my new favorite purple, hands down. I love metallics and purple, so this is a great choice for me! It dries so fast, and it is very opaque! This was two coats with top coat, although its natural finish is very shiny. It is slightly more violet in real life, but it is a really great color. I am loving it! Do you love it too?

KOTD: Winter Contest Entry!

Hey everyone!!! Today I am posting my entry for Lisa's Winter Contest over at Nail Art World! If you haven't checked out her blog, please go do so because she is really inspiring!

I love how this turned out! I used OPI Russian Navy as the night sky, Sinful Colors Hottie as the glitter and China Glaze Devotion for the snowflakes with the Konad m20 plate. Do you love it too?!? This mani just makes me smile everytime I see it! Be sure to go and vote for the second place winner here! Go vote for your favorite, I know that my mani is def. not the best in the competition by a long shot!

8ty8beauty Spree #29 status - On the way!

Hi ladies,

thank you for your patience!

8ty8beauty Spree #29 is on it's way to Singapore!

Sometimes it's a little frustrating communicating with the supplier as they are pretty slow in their emails. sigh... Besides, the time difference between US and Singapore also play a part.

Anyway, there are some out of stocks. I will email to those who have been affected. If you don't hear from me means good news =)

I will update again once the item arrives~

**For those who've missed this spree, please join my mailing list to be updated on the next spree.

Thanks!

Art Deco Gold Glitter

Hooray for more Art Deco striper polishes! Today's is their gold glitter; it isn't a true gold but more of a dirty/antique gold. I really like it paired with warmer toned polishes, but it looks funny with cooler tones.

It dries well and quickly, and it packs plenty of fine glitter particles. This stuff is a little hard to get off though; I really have to scrub, but it is totally worth it! The brush is really nice with these polishes as well, it is very, very thin and perfect for nail art. I am still getting used to using them, but I bet that once I get it down that my nails will look really professional!

Kreativ Blogger Award!

Heya everyone! The wonderful Leanne from Do Not Refreeze tagged me for this award; Leanne you are so sweet, thank you! Here are the rules: To list 7 things about yourself and tag 7 people; so here we go!

1. Very few of my friends know about this blog, and none of my family does. I really only share this part of myself with all of you and my three closest friends, including my wonderful boyfriend.

2. I get very pissed off when people make fun of my weight; or more specifically lack thereof. I am 5'7" and I go between 95-100 lbs. People I don't even know come up to me and ask me if I have an eating disorder; and I really want to punch them. I do not have an eating disorder, my high metabolism is genetic and my weight is actually healthy for my build. Making fun of someone who is skinny is the same as making fun of someone who is fat, you tell them that they are unhealthy and not normal. Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves.

3. Otters are my favorite animals.

4. I plan on getting a belly-button piercing on the 9th; I am so excited!!! I am going to the studio with my friend, who is getting 2 dermal anchors in the stars of her side tattoo.

5. I do not have a tattoo because I HATE needles, but I really want one. I only deal with needles for shots, and I do get a flu shot every year.

6. Even though I am super pasty white, it is impossible for me to blush. My face can turn red when I laugh and such; but I simply don't get embarassed! I am a very open book and I am open to discuss anything. I am not sure yet if that is a good or a bad thing.

7. My first experience with makeup was stealing my mother's unused MAC Studio Fix Powder and using it. Heck, she never did! I used to have severe cystic acne, so covering it up made me feel a lot better about myself.

Here are the 7 awesome bloggers that I am tagging! I wish that I could tag more because I love all of the blogs that I read!

Mighty Lambchop from Lambchop Mobile
Liz from Iceomatic Nails
Nicole from Magic Maid
Asami from Nails by Asami
Allya from Painted Tips
Kae from The Hungry Asian
Berry from Happyberrynaiad

NOTD: Grey with Green Dots

Hello everyone! Are you sick of seeing my nail art yet? Well I have a simple one for you today, it is just OPI You Don't Know Jacques matted with the Essie Matte About You topcoat with shiny green dots of OPI Green-wich Village. This is actually from awhile ago, you will notice that my thumbnail is not broken at this point. Although it is growing back quickly, it is not back to that length just yet. It's nothing special; but I liked it. Do you like it?
