OPI - What is the difference? Shimmer, Frost, Creme, Sheer??

Lacquer Finish

Each colour is also classified as being one of the several finishes - Shimmer, Frost, Creme or Sheer.

Shimmer colours are extremely fashionable these days.Shimmers have a glitter running through them, at the end of the scale shimmers are those colours you can't describe because they are so changeable. You know it's a shimmer when from one angle you would swear the lacquer was one colour, but you look again and it's something completely different.

Frosts can be much harder to define. In light colours,frosts have a luminescent glow about them. They are one colour only - the glittery, sparkly nature of them is not like a shimmer, which may be a red with a faint gold glitter in it.

Creme are classic and appear more often in winter collections. An OPI creme makes your nails look a million dollars, the effect is so glossy and thick. You're nails look permanently wet. Cremes are a "flat"colour, in the best possible way.

Sheers are really most suited to neutrals and are typically found in colours intended for French manicures. As you would imagine from the name, sheer colours are more transparent by design.

Hi~
i've been busy unpacking and sorting the OPI orders.
unfortunately one of the bottle broke. sorry, anthea.. quite a big mess.. coz the color that broke was Lincoln park at midnight D01 which is a very dark color. so the bottles around it were affected. sigh..i have to use the nail polish remover to wipe off the stains on the bottles. in the end, my nail color got stained too! haha.. i've to remove my nail color as well.. arghh.. its ok.. i'm going to remove it anyway so i can try my new colors i've brought! hee~~




Besides one broken bottle, there's one bottle missing as well! anyway have confronted tom and now i've 2 bottles on credit with him. i've to refund the spree-er too.. i guessed my order was too big? so ladies, im gonna minimized my spree to a maximum 50 bottles (approximately there)

OPI spree #2 - updates

Hi everyone!

here's the status of the spree so far.

Well, there are some hiccups for this spree. Didn't go as smoothly as i thought. Here's what happened. Tom emailed me the invoice for the OPIs i've ordered. I went through the list and found some errors. Some of the items are missing (he had told me which colors are OOS beforehand) and some of the colors which i didn't order appeared and some of the quantities are wrong. Kinda scary initially... i quickly emailed Tom to rectify the error.

He sent me with a new invoice again. There are still some errors spotted despite alerting him which are the wrong ones. 3rd invoice short of 1 color. so i email him again and tell him to add and assume everything should be ok after added this missing color and told him to go ahead with the order coz i was gg to sleep. They are not working on sat. So sun i email Tom to check on the status as i did not receive the updated invoice. This morning i received the invoice but i can only check them in the evening as i cant check it at work.

I was shocked that i saw more errors and i checked my credit card transaction. The credit limited is already on hold but the payments are not deducted yet. I was very worried that the package has been shipped out. So i quickly sent an urgent email to Tom and notify him the errors again. Shortly, Tom actually called me and said that lucky the package has not been delivered but the courier guy will be coming in 30mins?! Phew!! So he update the invoice and i check immediately and gave him the green light to process the order.

Anyway, Tom advised me next time try not to organize a big spree. This time i had about 160 of items! I dont blame Tom for these mistakes. There are so many OPI colors and so many orders. It's not easy. At least i know he tried his best. Well, i also have to pray hard that the colors i received matched the invoice too! Anyway, the items are on its way to my house! Hopefully i can receive them by this week. hehe..

I'll update you guys on the status again!

Hi all,

just celebrated my 23rd birthday yesterday! Happy birthday to me! haha.. My #2 OPI spree response is overwhelming! weeee~~ Still have to wait till 1900hrs tomorrow to close the spree officially although i've met the maximum orders. Well, after reading it makes me wanna give it a try and throw away my cheapo nail base&top coat! I think its really important to use a base coat before apply the color as it protects your nails and prevent them from yellowing (especially if you use dark colors!) Guess what? My nails still turned abit yellow despite using base coat from The Face Shop when i apply dark colors. Reason? Maybe it's cheapo? Gonna throw it soon so that i have space for my OPI.

It's really worth investing on better brands if you are crazy about nail polishes. In the past, i dont bother to buy branded nail polish coz i felt that its all the same. Why should i pay more? I can always stock up my colors at Bangkok Thailand where it only cost 100 baht(abt SGD$4.5) for 4 colors! After reading and hearing so much about OPI, i've decided to give it a try. Wow, i can really see and feel the difference. The quality is so much better, easier to apply.
