Nail Art: Neon Stripes!

Hi everyone, today I actually have a manicure for you, yay! Now in case you don't know, it is freaking snowing here again. In fact it is going to snow all week. So to will the bad weather away, I decided on some brighter nails. Now please ignore the horrifying cuticles, it's finals time and I am a chronic cuticle biter. And please ignore the indoor picture because the weather outside is terrible and I can't get god lighting. :( Do you like the new nail shape though? I am not really sure about rounder nails yet, we'll see. I used Sinful Colors Jamboree and Art Deco Bright Orange. I just did stripes, but I like how I varied the stripes. Can you tell I ran out of ideas when I got to my pinky lol? What do you think?

NOTD: Missing Royalty

Hi everyone! Today is a simple combination of ELF Royal Purple and Sinful Colors I Miss You. I have been loving the nice weather of late, but it looks like it is going to snow either today or tomorrow. :( I really wish that it would just stay warm; I feel like the weather is reflecting my mood. So I am just going to be depressed over the next few days; fun times. I hope that you all have an awesome day though! :D

NOTD: Dark Flakie Ocean!

Hi everyone! Awhile back I remember that a lot of you suggested putting Sinful Colors Green Ocean over a black, so I did! It looks SO FREAKING COOL! The picture doesn't do it justice, really! I put 3 layers of Green Ocean over OPI Black Onyx and it is stunning, it is like my nails are the bottom of the ocean. I did notice that I got tip wear very quickly and it chipped easily, but that may have been because I put on so many layers of polish. Have you ever tried layering a flakie over black? How did it turn out for you?

Pink Skittles!

Hi everyone! I have accumulated so many pinks lately that I thought I would compare them all for you side by side! From thumb to pinky they are Essie Castaway, Coral Colors Shade 4, Essie Forget Me Nots, OPI Fuschia Fling, and Sinful Colors Jamboree. I thought that the OPI and the Sinful would be a lot closer in color as they look like the same color in the bottle, but they are very different on the nail! Do you like the idea of me doing this type of post with more than just pink?

NOTD: Jade Ocean

Hey everyone! I have decided that I love this combination. This is OPI Jade is the New Black and Sinful Colors Green Ocean. The flakies don't show up terribly well in the picture, but it looks great in real life. The colors really coordinate well together, plus the fact that I love flakies. What is your favorite flakie nail polish?

NOTD: Lilies Mean I Miss You

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you a simple combination, this is Zoya Lily and Sinful Colors I Miss You. It reminds me of figure skating or ballet, I guess just the delicate quality of the combination. I love the sparkles in I Miss You, it just works so well with so many colors. Do you love the combination too?

NOTD: Sea Pearls

Hello everyone! (Backlogged post!) Who doesn't love a little subtle sparkle? I was really in a blue mood so I decided to use OPI Sea? I Told You! as the main color. I then topped it with Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor and I used the Essie Matte topcoat to matte the look. I love how it turned out, it looked more sparkly in real life though. What do you think? Do you like to matte bright colors too?

This has nothing to do with nail polish in the least, but I am going to go ahead and pimp out my new blog, Playing With Piercings. I know that it has nothing to do with nail polish in the least, but I figure that some of you are probably into body mods too. When I was researching various piercings and such, I found that there just aren't a lot of personal blogs about it. I am by no means a professional or a hard-core body modifyer, but I want to document my experiences and share what I learn/learned. Check it out if you are interested, I will put up a new post on it here soon! :D

NOTD: Jade Pearls

Hi everyone! Here is a simple combination today, I wanted to wear OPI Jade is the New Black with a little bling. So I layered Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor over it, I love how it brings out the blue tones in the polish! Very simple but a little flashy, you like? What is your favorite creme/glitter combination?

Sinful Colors: I Miss You

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you a formal reivew on on of my favorite glitters, Sinful Colors I Miss You (spelled on the bottom as "I Miss Yuo", but I think I know what they were going for"). This is a beautiful dense baby pink glitter suspended in a sheer dark purple jelly base. This glitter looks gorgeous with purples and pinks in particular. It applies really well and isn't too much of a hassle to get off for a glitter. This is by far one of my favorite glitters and is worth trying to hunt for if you live in the US!

Sinful Colors Green Ocean

Hi everyone! Yesterday I promised you all this swatch so here it is in all of its glittery and flakie glory. Please ignore the ugly yellowness of my nails! The glitter in real life shows up more blue and green than in the picture. I can't wait to try to layer this over green and blue polishes! I do wish that this polish had less glitter and more flakies, and that it was a little denser. Otherwise it applies well, although the clear base dries semi-matte so you may want to use a topcoat with this. Isn't it gorgeous though, I love how pretty it is in the bottle! Are you planning on picking this one up? It won't be with the Sinfuls, it has it's own display!

KOTD: Ginger Tone-On-Tone

Hi everyone! I have recently fallen in love with the idea of tone-on-tone manicures, because they look so cool! So be prepared to see more of these in the future lol. Today I will start off with one that originally went well, but I got lumps and bedsheet marks thus the not-so-perfect finish. It turned out very cool though, it seems very 70's to me! I used OPI Ginger Bells, Sinful Colors Bronze, and the m60 plate. Have any of you ever tried tone-on-tone manicures before? I like them because they are subtle flashes of the pattern in the light.

In light of this semi-fail, I will be posting a swatch of one of the polishes I hauled, so stay tuned for that! :D

Dollar Tree Haul and More!

Hi everyone! I twittered last night about my huge cheap haul and now I want to share it with you. I am a big bargain hunter, I love shopping for a good deal. In fact I got all of this polish for about $20! The first stop I made was a Dollar Tree in a part of town that I rarely visit.

If you have followed this blog for awhile then you know I LOVE my Art Decos for nail art. I found tons at the Dollar Tree and I bought one of every color that I did not already own. I also bought an old-school Maybelline, they had several but this color really caught my eye! From left to right they are Art Deco Red Glitter, Art Deco Baby Pink, Art Deco Bright Orange, Art Deco Green Glitter, Art Deco Bright Green, Art Deco Intense Pink, and Maybelline Two-Timer. The next stops I made were TJMaxx and Walgreens.

I found Sinful Colors Green Ocean at Walgreens and at TJMaxx I found 4 Essie minis and Goldie polishes! The Essies are (from left to right) Essie Ruby Slippers, Essie Rose Bowl, Essie Fearless, and Essie Wrapped in Rubies. They are so pretty! The Goldies don't have names, but there was this neutral set and a pink set available as well. I hope you enjoyed my haul! Tomorrow I will post my swatch of Green Ocean's awesome glitter/flakie goodness!

Nail Art: Olympic-Inspired Nails

Hi everyone! If you follow me on Twitter, then you probably already know how obsessed I am with the Olympics, so of course I had to do a mani inspired by the event! I have closely watched every Olympics since the Sydney Summer Games in 2000. In fact I even live in Salt Lake City, which hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. It was really cool to watch the opening ceremonies this year because I now know so many people around the world through blogging. When countries would march in, I would think of people that I know in those countries and cheer, it has brought me much closer to the international aspect of the Games. I love it! Do you watch the Olympics too?

I used OPI Alpine Snow, Art Deco Gold Glitter, OPI Sea, I Told You!, Sinful Colors Canary Yellow, OPI Black Onyx, OPI Green-wich Village, and OPI Big Apple Red. It is inspired by the Olympic flag, which I love because it contains at least one color that is on every flag around the world!

NOTD: Celia Misses You!

Hi everyone! Today I am bringing you kind of a boring mani, but I thought that it would turn out better than it actually did. It is still not too bad though I guess! This is Mecca Cosmetica Celia under a layer of Sinful Colors I Miss You. The pink tones don't match as well as I had hoped, but you can really only tell if you look closely. Can you tell that I love this glitter though? If you have access to it, I urge you to run to your nearest Walgreens and go get it, it is totally worth it!

Another reminder that I will be doing a 300 follower giveaway, and I am only a handful of followers away from it!

Nail Art: Missing Lincoln Park

Hi everyone! I decided to try and go for a gradient manicure again, and this one turned out a lot better! I love this mani! Pinks and purples are probably some of my favorite colours so this mani is perfect for me! I used OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and Sinful Colors I Miss You. I couldn't stop staring at my nails all day, and I got loads of compliments on it. It is almost like pink snow falling to me, do you love it as much as I do?

Haul Goodies! Woot Woot!

These are the goodies that I have been collecting over the month of January! From left to right they are: Art Deco Red, ELF Pearl, ELF Royal Purple, ELF Dark Navy, Sinful Colors I Miss You, OPI Absolutely Alice, OPI Glove You So Much!, Essie Cute as a Button, Essie Forget Me Nots, and Essie Castaway. I got the Essies for a steal, all three together were $4! And Glove You So Much! was on clearance as well, so this haul didn't cost me too much. Then after I took that picture and scheduled this post I went to Sallys and Walgreens...

I found 3 bottles of China Glaze Matte Magic on clearance for .99 cents each, and I got a China Glaze Flying Dragon, Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud and a Seche Vite Topcoat. Flying Dragon was free with the Seche Vite, awesome! I have been wanting to try Seche Vite for awhile, but I refuse to use it until I use up my other two topcoats! I will be strong! I have it hiding in a shoebox so that I am not tempted. I also got a Sally's Card, my Sally's finally got some more! They had been out of cards for awhile and got shipped some a few weeks ago. I am going to save SO much money!

Nail Art: Metallic French

Hey everyone! Today I decided that I really wanted to play with metallics, so I did a metallic french mani. It looks ok, I didn't like it enough to keep it on for more than half an hour last night (thus the crappy indoor pic). I exaggerated the tips a little bit; I think that it makes my nails look a lot longer!

I used China Glaze Twenty-Four K, Sinful Colors Bronze (LOVE this polish!) and Art Deco Silver. Have any of you ever done a finish-themed mani before?

And might I say Holy Cow Pies to the snow that is currently dumping buckets here! I heard on the news that it was freezing rain outside that could turn into snow. I looked outside of my window at 6:40 am to see rain, so I grabbed my rain jacket and put it on. I looked back up out of the window and it was snowing heavily, that is how fast the snow came. Although we are very used to snow here in Northern Utah, it has been a rather dry winter. Not anymore. Mother Nature is makeing up for it now. As much as I hate snow, it was so pretty! The snow is so fluffy that it all clumps togther as it comes down, creating huge snowflakes/clumps, it is really cool! I can't take pics because it is still very dark outside, but I am going to try to take some this afternoon and post them if you all would like that!
